Weirdo's Weekly Update — 14 November, 2022

What are we working on?

We are revamping our website to make the experience better for you. We are getting more and more clarity about the direction where we are going, which will be reflected in the updated website. Also, a new free email course will be available soon - you'll be the first one to know when you can click the signup button.

We opened an online Virtual Gallery for our New World Guardians Social Impact NFT Community. If you are interested, you can visit it here, enjoy the art and learn more about our project.

Cryptos

Unfortunately, this week's news is dark for the crypto space - FTX collapsed. After launching in 2019, FTX became one of the largest crypto exchanges used by over a million users. On November 2nd, their boat started to sink when CoinDesk reported that Alameda's balance sheets were mainly filled with FTX's native FTT tokens. Alameda Research is a trading firm co-founded by Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of FTX. Following this event, Binance announced selling its holdings of FTT, and a rapid collapse of FTX happened. FTX filed for bankruptcy on November 11th, 2022.

As you can see on the chart below, from November 5th to November 7th, the balance of ETH kept on the exchange, worth almost 650 Mill $ dropping to around 60 Mill $. Also, 1 Billion $ in Stablecoins was transferred out.

You can find the full timeline in a report of the M6Labs report.

We are not getting tired of reminding you (and ourselves) - Not your key, not your coins. Keep your coins from lying around on different exchanges, especially if you are not planning to use them there. One of the best ways is to hold your digital assets in a hardware wallet.

Traveling, what's next?

We have one week more in Phnom Penh before we move back to Bangkok. We will stay there for a month and then leave for Ho Chi Minh City for another month until the mid of January. After that, we have yet to make any plans.

It's great to be completely free and choose the next locations spontaneously, preferably where we haven't been yet, as we want to collect new flags.

Cambodia is a positive surprise; we will surely return to explore more and visit new cities.

Current Habits

Here are my habits:

Headspace Meditation - 561 days

Language Learning (Spanish/Thai) - 568 days

Here are Maja's current habits:

Duolingo (German) - 794 days

Drops (Thai) - 67 days

Swimming update:

We didn't drown yet, but we hit the first bigger obstacle - breathing. We are both a bit stuck, but as we like to follow the principle the obstacle is the way, we will stay consistent with our training and try to make mini steps (swims) forward every day. 🏊

Something to think about

"We have two lives. The second begins when we realize we only have one." - Confucius

and one by James Clear, of course.

"One of the common trappings of success is overproducing.

Companies make money and rapidly expand their product line. Authors become popular and churn out books at a faster clip.

Scale can empower, but it can also dilute. Something is lost when quantity is valued over quality.

You have to maintain your standards even when all the forces around you seem to be calling for growth. Push back against more, more, more and remain committed to better, better, better."
